[Annual Review 2020]
In 2020, the COVID-19
virus rages across the world and rapidly develops
into a huge disaster facing all mankind. Under the
pandemic, everyone cannot live the way they used to.
Our soccer club’s plans for multiple matches and
activities that were set during last year were also
forced to be delayed or cancelled. The Youth
Training Program was unable to resume classes
throughout the year. We hope that the pandemic will
be brought under control as soon as possible so that
everyone can continue to enjoy playing soccer in
2021.

[The 4th 06 Lunar New Year Cup]
- February 1, 2020 - |
The "06 Lunar New Year Cup" is
our club’s first internal competition event every year. This
year was the 4th time. It was held at St Michael's
Playground Soccer Field in Woodside, Queens. Members from
Hong Kong and Mainland China formed two teams to compete.
Members from other regions (listed as foreign aid) were
distributed to the two teams equally. Since our club
established a 40+ team last year, the "06 Lunar New Year
Cup" this year was divided into two groups: the open group
and the 40+ group. The results of both groups were used to
determine who the champion is. This year, the Mainland China
team defeated the Hong Kong team by 8:3, regaining the lost
championship in 2019.

[06 Fights the COVID-19 With You!]
-
May 19. 2020 - |
Starting from early 2020, a global outbreak of
COVID-19 occurred. All kinds of personal protection
equipment, especially children's masks, are in short
supply. 06 United Football Club initiated the "06
fights the COVID-19 with you" charity event to
distribute children's masks for free. Online
application started in mid-May and just in the first
two days, more than 200 application forms have been
received. Each successful applicant received 20
children's masks and sterilizing hand sanitizers for
free by mail in mid-June. We would like to thank
Great Eagle Group Inc. and Na Industries
International Corp. for their full support and
generous donation of epidemic prevention supplies.

[The Flushing Cup]
- May 24, 2020 - |
After almost one year of preparation, the first
"Flushing Cup" hosted by our soccer club was
originally scheduled to be held on May 24.
Originally, 14 teams had actively supported and
confirmed their participation in this 8v8 soccer
tournament. Unfortunately, due to the epidemic in
May, the event was postponed to September 6.
However, the epidemic was still not under control in
September. Reluctantly, the club can only postpone
the tournament for one year to May 30, 2021. In
addition, the "Machine Cup" tournament used to be
held in early October every year was also cancelled
due to the epidemic.

[06 Video Special Program]
- December 24,
2020
- |
Due to the epidemic
this year, the club was not able to host the
year-end annual party like previous years. However,
the club coordinated and recorded several special
programs, including "Special of 06 Internal Cup",
"06 Millionaire", and "Kick Away 2020" for all 06
members to watch. These special programs were
broadcasted from Christmas to New Year for everyone
to enjoy at home. We hope that we could bring a
little bit of laughter and encouragement out of
those various unfortunate and sad news around the
globe.
